Foil Drive Retro-fit High Power Motor Kit
Motor Kit Overview
The Foil Drive Retro-fit High Power Motor Kit is designed to add Foil Drive power to an existing foil setup. The kit combines the Universal Mini Pod, High Power V2 Motor and Three Blade Propeller setup, providing high take-off thrust and efficient surface motoring across a wide range of assisted foiling disciplines.
Universal Mini Pod
The Universal Mini Pod provides a low-drag connection between the motor and foil mast. The system can be installed and removed without tools and uses interchangeable straps to accommodate a wide range of foil mast profiles. The motor position can also be adjusted on the mast to suit different boards, foil setups and riding styles.
High Power V2 Motor
The High Power V2 Motor is designed to provide increased low-end thrust and efficient power delivery. This makes it particularly suitable for assisted take-offs, where additional thrust is required to get the board and foil up to speed.
Three Blade Propeller
The kit includes a Three Blade Hub with Standard Three Blade Propellers. Compared with a two-blade setup, the three-blade configuration provides more low-end thrust and smoother power delivery, making it suitable for riders who prioritize acceleration and controlled take-offs.
Motor Cable
The kit includes a 20cm removable V2 motor cable, providing a versatile motor position for surf, pumping, wing, downwind, wake and flatwater assisted foiling. The cable can be replaced with another length as required. For dedicated eFoiling, Foil Drive recommends using a longer 60cm or 70cm removable cable, which is available separately.
Installation & Adjustment
The Universal Mini Pod allows the motor to be installed directly onto an existing foil mast without permanently modifying the mast. The motor position can be adjusted, while the interchangeable cable system allows the motor height to be changed to suit different riding disciplines and setups.
Compatibility
The Retro-fit High Power Motor Kit is compatible with foil masts from all major brands, provided the mast profile fits within the Universal Mini Pod strap range. The system is designed as a retro-fit solution for riders who want to add Foil Drive to an existing foil setup. It is not compatible with Gen1 Assist or Assist Plus systems.
