Designed for freedom, engineered for performance. The new F-one Rocket Free Downwind Carbon 2026 combines glide, volume, and acceleration in an elongated shape, perfectly suited to emerging disciplines such as pocket winging and K-Winging.
The Rocket Free Downwind range was developed to meet the demands of modern freefly and downwind riding. In these disciplines, freedom is key: the wing or paddle is used only for take-off before being stashed or flagged out, allowing you to ride pure swell and ocean energy.
To support this riding style, the board features increased length for improved glide and acceleration, combined with sufficient volume for stable and efficient take-offs. Because take offs in these disciplines can be more technical than in traditional wingfoiling, the Rocket Free Downwind gives you the extra edge needed to get going smoothly.
Building on the fundamentals of the Midlength concept natural front to rear balance, stability, and glide, this board pushes performance even further. The stretched outline enhances glide, while the rear step and kicktail help generate speed quickly and smooth out touchdowns. A shallow cockpit provides direct control underfoot without adding unnecessary thickness, and the carefully tuned width-to-thickness ratio ensures the perfect balance between stability and acceleration, even in underpowered conditions.
Compared to the Free Surf, the Free Downwind offers increased stability, featuring greater thickness, a wider nose and bottom surface, and squarer rails. The slightly front-biased foot pressure follows the classic F-one board feel and supports easy, confident take offs even in choppy or challenging conditions.
Built with F-one’s Bamboo Deck Construction, the board remains light, strong, and highly responsive. The connection to the foil feels direct and precise, maintaining full control even at higher speeds.
