Let’s Protect the Future of the Brouwersdam

The beach at the Brouwersdam is one of the most loved spots on the Dutch coast. For sunbathers, for kitesurfers for tourists. But did you know that the beach is shrinking by tens of meters each year? Without urgent action, this iconic stretch of sand could be gone before we know it.

That’s why we’ve launched Save The Dam.

What’s going on?

Wind and water are constantly shifting the sand at the North Sea side of the Brouwersdam. Slowly but surely, nature is eating away at one of the most loved beaches in the Netherlands.

No beach means no space for kitesurfing, no recreation, no space to spend your holidays. It also puts pressure on the many local businesses that rely on visitors, from surf schools and restaurants to campsites and shops.

What we’re doing

Together with @visitbrouwersdam and all local partners, we’re raising our voices to protect this place and to push the authorities to take action, before it’s too late.
