Round the Dam The First Edition is in the Books!

Round the Dam The First Edition is in the Books!

The first edition of Round the Dam is done and we couldn’t be more stoked. On Sunday 22 June 2025, more than 60 wingfoilers hit the water for a long-distance race of around 35 kilometres around the Brouwersdam.

What is Round the Dam?

Round the Dam is our new wingfoil race. It’s a long-distance format designed for both ambitious amateurs and pro riders. The course runs along the North Sea side of the Brouwersdam, covering roughly 35 kilometres of open water.

The race started straight from the beach with a rabbit start, where riders entered the water as soon as the passing vehicle – the rabbit – had gone by.

What went down

  • Great conditions: sun, wind, and a clear course. The wind became stronger during the day.
  • Over 60 wingfoilers lined up at the start.
  • After the first full lap, the fastest 30 riders qualified for a second race
  • Prize Giving.

Pro & Amateur Results

In the Pro division, Felix Drent took the win. In the Amateur class, Mark van der Burg came in first, and in the Women’s division, it was Mariska Wildenburg and Lily van Deth under 18. Full results are shared via our socials.

Big thanks

Thanks to all the riders, the volunteers, and to our sponsor North Foils for making the event happen.

We’ll be back.
See you out there!
