Every Friday, we have Foil Friday "weekly wingfoil clinics" at the brouwersdam. For two epic Fridays this summer, Natural High Surfshop and Foil School NL are joining forces for a special edition focused entirely on downwind foiling in all its forms. Whether you’re paddling, winging, parawinging or using a foil assist, this is your chance to take your skills to the next level under expert guidance and with access to the latest gear from top brands.
A collaboration built for progression
For this special Downwind Edition, we’re stoked to team up with Jelle from Foil School NL, the leading academy in Zeeland when it comes to wing- and downwind foiling. With his deep knowledge of the local conditions and tons of experience coaching everything from first flights to full-on downwinders.
The Foil Friday Downwind Special gives you all the tools you need to start doing downwinders with coaching and gear testing to essential downwind technique.
What to expect on the day
- Insights into gear selection: how to choose the right foil, board and wing for your style and weight
- Condition reading: how to spot and use swell lines and wind corridors
- Downwind technique: pumping, linking bumps, jibes, safety
- Demo time: try the latest gear from Duotone, F-ONE, North, Foil Drive and more
- Coached downwind runs with optional return shuttles (paddle only)
Each instructor, Jelle Stoop, Kay van Berlo, and Bart Schijf will lead one fixed group for the evening, giving riders consistent coaching and focused feedback throughout the session.
Choose your downwind path
We’ve got a spot for you if you're ready for open water action:
- Wingfoil – You’re confident riding both tacks and can jibe both sides.
- Parawing – You’ve already done downwinders on a wingfoil and are in control when using a parawing.
- Paddle – You’re either:

- An experienced wing/parawing foiler looking to explore paddle starts, or
- A non-foiler with strong SUP experience on race or wave boards.
We’ll shuttle you upwind, so you can focus 100% on the downwind glide.
