The Appletree Applino was designed with the idea of having one board for all disciplines. Appletree managed to shape this all-rounder with the expertise from Paulino Pereira. He needed a board that can be used in all kinds of conditions for every competition.
The result is an easy riding surfboard with an aggressive riding potential. We were immediately impressed by how much pop this board has thanks to the amount of rocker under your back-foot. The carbon construction makes this board very responsive, light and gives that little bit of extra pop while performing your strapless freestyle tricks.
The Applino is a relatively thin board with plenty of planing area under your front foot giving the board stability and power in weaker waves. The single concave which runs into a slight V in the tail provides a quick turning board with a decent amount of control and hold in decent surf.
Appletree surfboards are constructed in a very durable way. The main reason that their boards can be so light but strong is because they first vacuüm the board together with the carbon + the natural cork sandwich under your front foot + the honeycomb skin. After having the board completely vacuüm, the Epoxy resin is injected under high pressure. Thanks to this technique less epoxy resin is needed to laminate evertyhing together. This saves a lot of weight without making the board less durable. It actually makes the board stronger.
